Historic York
The White Rose City

Known for having the largest designated historic district in the state, York has over 180 historic landmarks listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Town of York (originally known as Fergus Crossroads and then Yorkville), was a hub of activity for local families. The railroad took their crops to market, the town folk provided community life and the roadways (and paths) were their connection to culture, education and religious expression for all of the area families.

While life has changed dramatically since then, many of the virtues and value of village life remain. York continues to be the heartbeat of this area with main street life that includes shopping, dining,
festivals, entertainment, cultural activities and services for area residents.

No matter what time of year, strolling along the quaint streets in the Village of York is both relaxing and rewarding - neighbors meeting neighbors, grabbing a bite to eat at The Jasmine Cafe or just window shopping on a Saturday afternoon. Fine dining is available evenings by reservation at
The Coal Yard or Brandon House.
